Gravity Falls is a great mystery/comedy show. It’s aimed at kids, but this show has quite a fan following that includes adults as well. Unfortunately it has completed it’s run, but the good news is that you don’t have to wait for new episodes to come out to see what happens. The two lead characters in this show are twins Mabel and Dipper. Dipper is very focused on solving the mysteries he finds in Gravity falls. Mabel is usually looking to have fun, but always supports her brother on his quest. Mabel has a very colorful personality and loves to make crafts like her unique sweaters. This post is inspired by Mabel and her love of DIY.

If you are having a Gravity Falls party you can have “Mabel Juice” which is any kind of drink with toys and ice cubes in it. Make sure you have kids use a straw so they don’t get any toys in their mouth.

Or you can have “Pitt Cola”. I used my favorite peach flavored soda which is available in Australia. I’m not sure how easy it is to find peach soda in America, I don’t really remember seeing any. So if you want people to know what flavor they are drinking you can use a different version of the label.  There is a lot of cherry flavored soda, so I made a version of the label with cherries on it. There really isn’t any cherry flavored soda in Australia though. There is strawberry and raspberry, but those don’t have pits.

You can print your own labels from this file.

In one episode Mabel and Dipper shrink themselves so you can use little toy versions of them as party decorations. At one point Mabel gets into a bag of gummy koalas when she is tiny. Unfortunately there is no such thing in Australia, but there are a lot of gummy frogs and snakes. I think there are actually gummy koalas sold in the UK though.

Here are Mabel and Dipper with their shrinking flashlight. The eye jar is similar to one on the shelf of the Mystery Shack. The eyes are made from Heidis brand pfeffernusse cookies. I made the iris with green frosting and stuck an M&M in the center for the pupil.

In one episode Mabel is upset and she hides inside her sweater. She says “Mabel’s not here, she’s in sweater town.” This is what I imagine sweater town looks like. All of the different patterns are based on sweaters that Mabel has worn on the show.

Mabel wears so many different sweaters in the show and you can see images of them that people have put together. I included some from my favorite episodes.

One of here sweaters lights up with star lights and you can see here that I put that one at the top. I used fairy lights with a battery pack for this.

I made this using the box as a guide. For general instructions on how to make shapes, you can check out this post. I used cotton Comfy Worsted Yarn for this project. I crocheted the pieces of this together with the seems towards the inside of the box   for the bottom part and then crocheted the outside edges along the top and sides so it would be a loose box shape and sit inside the box better. You can see that I made pieces to go around the outside and folded it over. I left the back open so it can be removed from the box and washed if needed.

Here you can see that it is one box shape and I folded the edges over.

Here is the box. You need this for it to hold it’s shape. You can see that there isn’t anything to cover the back of the box.
