Kawaii Box Review – December 2016

Kawaii Box is a monthly subscription box with items from Japan and Korea. It has free world wide shipping, which is great because the shipping prices for a lot of subscription boxes are fairly expensive when they are shipped outside of the US. I am so excited that the December Kawaii Box had a calendar in it! I was hoping it would, just like last year. Everything in this box is always very cute, but I would say my favorite items are the pen with the cap that looks like a doll and the candy stickers. There are a lot of American products on this sticker sheet. I love that they have the candy cane shaped candy holder that are usually around for Christmas in America. Also included with the sweets theme are the two sandwich cookie erasers in this picture.

The other stationary item in this month’s box is a set of glitter tape. These are really nice. I can’t wait to use these to wrap presents. I’ve illuminated them with the flashlight from the box. I really like how the flashlight looks like a gem at the top. Just a side note for parents- this flashlight uses button batteries which are included, but the battery cover does not have a screw that keeps it in place. If you have very young children in your house that might put small things in their mouth, do not let them play with this. It is very dangerous for children to swallow this type of battery. You also find this type of battery in some remote controls, and anything with this type of battery that can be opened without a screwdriver should be kept out of reach of small children at all times.  If you suspect that a child has swallowed this type of battery make sure you take them to the hospital immediately.

There is always a food item in the Kawaii Box and this month it is cookies that can be dipped in a chocolate sauce and it also has sprinkles. These are really good! This is the first time that I’ve seen a pack like this with sprinkles. There is also this cool keychain with a macaron container on it.

It is the perfect size to store your earbuds in, and that is what I am going to use mine for. I took off part of the key chain and just put the clip back on. I’m going to use the little pink bear that was attached to it for something, I’m just not sure what yet. This little dinosaur plushie also came in the box. There has been a little plushie in each of the last 3 boxes, which is really cool, because they are all adorable!

The last 2 items in this box are a fingernail decoration kit with little gems and a nail file. and this little pill box container. The pill box has a little tray with 4 compartments, but you can remove it from the box to use it without the tray if you want.

Valentine’s Day will be here soon, so I decided to make some crafts with the items in the box. I made these little valentines with some of the stickers. These would be really easy for kids to make for their classmates.

I used the fingernail gems to decorate this box that I filled with candy.

I used clear nail polish to attach the gems to the box.

I also used these little gems to make a custom Vanellope von Schweetz Mini MixieQ. This dress was originally plain green and it came from one of the holiday muti-packs of figures. I colored her skirt with a gold Sharpie and her shoes black with a black Sharpie. I made the little heart cookie from a very small amount of Sculpy clay. I attached the little jewels to her hair with clear nail polish just like I attached them to the box above. They are meant to look like the little candies that are sprinkled in her hair.

This was a great box! I loved all the items. Follow the links if you’d like to see what was in the October and November boxes.
