Kawaii Box – May 2017

Kawaii Box – May 2017

I got two Kawaii boxes in two weeks! April’s box got held up in customs for a really long time and May’s box came right on time. This month’s box is awesome. It has another DIY food kit in it, and this one is themed to Gudetama. The instructions are only in Japanese, but this is what I did based on videos that I saw online for how to make it.

Instructions for pudding kit:

Use the little rectangle shaped hole in the tray as the measuring cup for milk. You’ll need 2 cups from this. Then put the milk and the packet with the yellow print on it into a microwave safe cup and mix it together. You are supposed to use a 500 watt oven. I don’t know what wattage mine is, but I’m pretty sure it is more than that. You are supposed to heat for 1 minute, and then another 30 seconds. I went for 45 seconds and it boiled over quite a bit, then I went for 20 seconds. So as you can see one of my molds is a bit short on pudding. Then you need to put it in the refrigerator until it sets. I left mine for about 2 1/2 hours.

Get a little water on the dish that you are going to put the pudding on. Then push on the edges of the pudding to loosen up the sides when you are ready to de-mold it.

Use the rectangular cup on the tray again to measure one cup of milk. Add the milk and the powder from the packet with blue writing to a bowl and stir them together. You are supposed to stir vigorously I think until the mixture thickens a bit. Then you spread it around your yolks. You might want to put them on separate plates so that the egg whites don’t run together. The green packet is a sauce. I think you can add it for flavor, or maybe just to the eyes and mouth so they are more defined. Even though I was a little short on mix, the heart one still turned out alright.

You really need this one to be full so you make sure this little guy has legs. My little Gudetama magnets approve of these kits! I probably should have chosen a plate that wasn’t white, but you can kind of see the egg white around the yolk. This was such a cute little kit. I’m saving the little tray to see if I can use it again with Jell-o. I’m not sure it will work, but it’s worth a shot. Vanilla pudding with gelatin would probably look closer to the mix in the kit.

There are also some Gudetama socks!

The other treat in the box was this strawberry flavored wafer cookie.

I was told it was delicious!

There were a lot of cute stationary items.

This tape set is so tiny! There is quite a lot of tape on these for how small these are.

These fairy tale stickers are glittery, and have beads floating around in them. I really like the cute little animals! I used the tape and stickers to decorate this little box.

There was also a gel pen and some page markers. I saw pictures of what was in other people’s boxes and there are all different types of markers. I’m really glad I got owl ones. They are so sweet!

This little star bracelet has disco ball silver beads between the stars. This is a great bracelet. It is more of a child’s size bracelet, but will fit on a small adult wrist.

This little dog looks angry, in a cute way though. He is the same size as Tsum Tsums, and seems like he’s made in the same style.

The last item in the box is this cute key chain. This little bunny comes in a bunch of different patterns. I saw clouds, stripes, grey with flowers, and yellow polka dots on Instagram also.

I decided I will use this little guy as a Christmas tree ornament next season. She is very light because she is hallow so I think she will work well as an ornament. I am collecting up all the little plastic bobbles from these types of things for another project that I will make eventually.
