This last week I was in Florida visiting Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. It was quite a whirlwind of activity. It was hot, hot, hot and I am pretty familiar with all the locations where ice cream is sold! I had a great time and I decided to share some of my food pictures from the trip. I’ve been getting ideas for new things to make for the blog that hopefully I can get to in the next few weeks.
We were only at Universal for one day. I loved riding on the Hogwarts Express, but if you can only go to one park, just go to the main one because you can go into the Wizard shops at that location. The castle which is in Islands of Adventure is really cool though!
Right next to Gringotts is an ice cream shop. The flavors are all swirled into vanilla ice cream. I got toffee apple.
I totally went crazy in the candy shops! You can see my haul below. The sugar quills will really write if you dip the ends in water! The love potion is meant to be enjoyed a few drops at a time in a drink. That’s a lot of love potion!
I also had pumpkin juice. It was really good! I love the little pumpkin cap on top as well.
I kind of wish I had bought more of this, but it is a bit rich. Next time I open one, I’ll probably split it! This juice has apple, pumpkin, and apricot in it and it tastes like pumpkin pie spices are in there as well.
We ate at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom. That was fun and it is priced about like a quick service restaurant at lunch. The star of the show was definitely “the gray stuff”.
The gray stuff was on top of a chocolate cupcake, but it wasn’t as sweet as frosting. I think it could have been some type of mousse. Whatever it was, I really liked it!
Here are a couple more cupcakes. I like how the first on is a fancy way to present a regular cupcake. A very common dessert decoration is the Mickey cupcake or sundae with two cookies or chocolates for Mickey or Minnie ears. You can see a cupcake example below.
The Art of Animation resort has cute Nemo/ Little Mermaid/Cars waffles available in their restaurant. You can see The Little Mermaid ones pictured below.
This was a sweet pretzel from the Norway pavilion that may be similar to a Kringle. It was kind of a puff pastry with a few raisins inside and frosting and chocolate on top. Where I’m from we have a different version of Kringle that is shaped like a flat oval and has pie filling inside.
Finally we have the chocolate moose mousse. This is available at Le Cellier in the Canadian pavilion at Epcot. The little chocolate antlers are maple leaves!
Well those were the highlights of the food we had on our trip! What is your favorite thing to eat at Universal Studios or Disney Parks?
