You can finally see The Little Prince movie in America. It is available through Netflix. For some reason it’s theatrical release was cancelled about a week before it was supposed to premiere, but now you can enjoy it in the comfort of your home. I highly recommend it. One of the nice things about this movie being out is that there is all kinds of merchandise available. I have instructions here to make your own Little Prince doll, but if you are not into crocheting you can get dolls on Amazon. It used to be that you could only find Little Prince things in France, although Moleskine has had some planners available the last few years. If you do decide to make this doll and/or blanket as a baby gift, there are Little Prince board books for babies on Amazon right now. When I was looking through everything I found a couple of games that were such a good deal that I decided to buy them. I’ll have pictures below in case you are interested. I have general instructions for baby blankets on a previous post. I used cotton acrylic blend Comfy Worsted Yarn for both the doll and the blanket. Not only is this yarn soft, it can be washed and put in the dryer which is really important when you make things for babies!

Wooden Board Games

The games I found on Amazon are based on existing board games, so if you have all those already, you may not want to get these. They are very cute and the game pieces are wooden. They are based on the movie version of the book so there are some characters who do not appear in the books represented in the games. Both games ship to the US and Australia.

The Little Prince Planet Game
This game was only $3.40. It is a really amazing price for what you get. The game is similar to  the spot it games.
There are several wooden disks with characters and character dice.

You can see the pieces are fairly large.

Game Instructions

I think you can choose any number of disks that gives you the correct combination. You can see in the example below that could be 1, 2 or 3 disks.

The disks have different numbers of characters on them. Each disk is unique so you can’t play memory with these pieces.
The Little Prince Double Play Galaxy Games Board Game

This game also features wooden pieces and costs a little more at almost $8, but it is 2 games. The two games are exactly like snakes and ladders and trouble. Again they are really cute and a great deal if you don’t have these games already.

The die is really cute with the little stars instead of dots, but the stars are a little hard to see. It photographed well here, but in certain lighting it may be difficult to use. You could also use a die with numbers on it to help young children learn their numbers.  You can find those on Amazon as well.

Snakes and Ladders Style Game Board

When you flip the board over you get the Trouble style game. There are 4 pieces of each character. The nice thing about the wooden pieces is that they can be used for role playing and as long as you have 4 kids or less they can each have a full set of characters if they just want to play around with the pieces.

The only strange thing about them is the label. They all say “Little Princess” on them.
Overall I think these games are a great deal, but if you already have Spot it, Snakes and Ladders, and Trouble you may want to give them a miss unless you are a big fan of the books and/or movie.
