Continuing with my cross stitch frenzy, I made one based on A Series of Unfortunate Events. “The world is quiet here,” is a phrase that members of the secret society, VFD, say to each other. The objects around the phrase all play a role in books. If you have been watching the TV series, only one of these things hasn’t been shown (or at least mentioned in passing) yet.
You have to add a few spaces to this in the word world if you want to use this pattern. You can use any style of letters you want for this though. I always start in the center and work out towards the edges so you make sure you have things centered properly. I fold the fabric into fourths to find the middle and work out from there. Below are all the patterns for the objects. If you are going to put this in a square or rectangular frame, you may want to organize them in that shape.
Medusoid Mycelium Mushroom
The Incredibly Deadly Viper and a Horseradish-Apple Hybrid
Violet’s Hair Ribbon and a Bannana (They show up in the book a few times)
The VFD Eye and a Flame
An Aqueous Martini, the Sugar Bowl, and a Slice of Coconut Cake
There are so many objects in this book series. I tried to choose things that came up more than once in the books, but you could add more things that remind you of your favorite characters or books. Other things you could add: a bag of candy, peppermints, a spyglass, a law book, a can of peaches, a canoe, gum, crackers, limes, popcorn, a happy clown, cheer-up cheeseburger, lumber, eyeglasses, a violin, crows, hot chocolate, heart shaped balloons, soup, a crystal ball, an ear of corn, snow gnats…, you get the idea.
What items would you include?
